Geneva, worth a visit

If you have not had the chance to visit Geneva, it's not too late, but once there you will regret not having done so before! 

This city has a unique geographical location in that it is cradled by mountains and extends to the southwest end of Lake Geneva, on both banks of the Rhone. Also second most populous city after Zurich, Geneva happens to be the top destination for tourists. 

Geneva: a city unparalleled

Shopping in Geneva is a pleasure, no matter the budget for this purpose, there is something for everyone.

Given that this is a city occupied by wealthy individuals and heads, branded shops are therefore legion. From the top of this mountain, you can enjoy a panoramic view. Hard to imagine Geneva without the lake and nearby mountains that are nicely covered by snow in winter.

Geneva is a little city model: an idyllic setting on the shores of Lake Geneva, a quality of life among the highest in the world, a largely international dimension, among the many institutions installed Genèves, or its global economy, third financial center of the world. It even speaks French! 

So, one is tempted to say that we came to Geneva to relax, the heart of a metropolis yet ... Modernity Geneva, however, did not erase all traces of his past, that found in the old town with typical architecture of the eighteenth century, to St. Peter's Cathedral or through the collections of the Museum of Art and History. 

But the undisputed symbol of Geneva remains its famous fountain, which rises a hundred meters above the calm waters of Lake Geneva.

Preparing a stay in Geneva 

Geneva offers a quite exotic atmosphere while being located close to the borders of France: good news! By train or plane, the round trip is organized very easily on the duration of a weekend, for example, just enough time to taste the well-being of Geneva. 

But to do so, there is provided a budget anyway: Switzerland is a country where the cost of living is very high, and this is fully verified in Geneva! For a tour of restaurants, shopping in stores, a few visits, a trip on the lake, nightlife, etc ... enjoy Geneva has its price.

Some institutions luxury on the banks of the lake, addresses charm in the historic center or more functional hotels in the area around the station ... for the budget, it remains the backpackers hostels, youth hostels or affordable homes to spend a night. 

Otherwise, B & B, apartments or campsites are alternatives to reside outside Geneva, but never far away! Also a pleasant but more convenient if you're driving ... 

The car however, is rather discouraged in Geneva, would that to park. Many trips are leisurely walk, but the city is well served by public transport (TPG), buses, trams, and even boats.
